지난 분기 해외 시장에서의 수치는 그렇게 나쁘지는 않다.

동사 Prefer는

Like better (더 좋아하다)의 뉘앙스로써,

prefer     A  to  B는

like better A than B (B보다 A를 더 좋아하다) 와 그 의미가 정확히 일치한다.

형용사 preferable은

동사 prefer의 형용사형으로 비교 변화가 없고,

단어 자체가 비교급이어서 more-than을 쓰지 못하고, 전치사 to를 수반한다.

 

 

{Raoul's Point-2}

Prefer A to B 구문에서, to 는 전치사로

to 부정사를 A, B에 위치에 쓰면 to의 중복이 일어나 헷갈리기 쉬우므로,

대신 동명사 -ing형을 A, B자리에 쓰며,

to 대신  rather than을 쓰는

prefer A rather than B의 경우에는, A,B 자리에 to부정사를 써도 된다.

- I prefer to study than to play. (* - 틀림)

- I prefer studying to playing. (O - 옳음)

- I prefer to study rather than to play. (O - 옳음)

 (나는 놀기보다 공부하기를 더 좋아한다.)
