아름다운 장미화원
튼튼한 울타리가 쳐져 있는 아름다운 화원.
그 안에는 장미가 만발했다.
어느 해 봄
사슴 한 마리가
화원으로 뛰어 들어왔다.
사람들은 사슴이 장미 화원을 망치지 않을까 걱정해서
매일 사냥총을 들고 화원 앞에 앉아있었다.
그러나 화원의 주인은
굶주린 사슴이
매일 자신의 화원에서
마음껏 배를 채울 수 있게 놔두었다.
계절이 바뀌면서 사슴의 발길은 뜸해졌고,
결국 아예 보이지 않게 되었다.
화원 주인은 사슴에게
무슨 일이 생긴 것은 아닌가 걱정했다.
그러나 다시 봄이 오자
사슴은 예쁜 아기를 데리고 돌아왔다.
깜찍한 아기 사슴은 엄마처럼 장미를 매우 좋아했다.
그리고 이상하게도
장미화원은
그 안에서 뛰노는 두 마리 사슴 때문에
더 아름답게 보였다.
