한밤중, 아무 소리 안나요, 포장도로에선.

Has the moon lost her memory?

달이 기억을 읽어버린 것일까요?
She is smiling alone.

달은 웃고 있어요,  홀로.
In the lamplight, the withered leaves collect at my feet

등불 아래,         시든 낙엽들이 모여요,          내 발에.
And the wind begins to moan.

그러면 바람은 한탄하기 시작해요.

Memory, All alone in the moonlight.

추억,       완전 홀로, 그 달빛에서.
I can smile at the old days.

난 미소 지을 수 있어요, 그 옛날들에.
I was beautiful, then.

난 아름다웠어요, 그 때에는.

I remember the time I knew what happiness was.

난 기억해요 그 때를, 행복이 뭔지 알았던 그 때를.
Let the memory live again
추억만은 다시 살게 할 거에요.

Every streetlamp seems to beat,

모든 가로등이 치는 듯,
A fatalistic warning

숙명적인 경고를.

Someone mutters and the street lamp gutters
누군가는 불평하고, 가로등은 흘러내려요.

 

 

And soon,

그럼 곧,

It will be morning.
아침이 오고.
Daylight

햇빛을

I must wait for the sunrise.

난 기다려야만 해요, 일출을.
I must think of a new life.

난 생각해야만 해요, 새 삶을
And I mustn't give in.

그리고 굴복해선 안 되요.

 

When the dawn comes, tonight will be a memory, too.

새벽이 오면, 오늘밤도 추억이 되겠죠.
And a new day will begin.

그럼 새 날이 시작되겠죠.

 

Burnt out ends of smokey days,

연기 그을린 날들의 끝이  타버렸어요.

The stale cold smell of morning.

퀴퀴한 아침 추위의 냄새.
The streetlamp dies, another night is over

가로등이 꺼지고, 다른 밤이 끝나요.
Another day is dawning...

또 하나의 새벽이 밝아오고 있네요...

It's so easy to leave me,

너무 쉬워요, 날 떠나는 건,
All alone with my memory,
내 모든 추억만을 가지고,

Of my days in the sun...

태양 아래서의 나의 날들의 추억만을.

만약 날 만지면, 그대는 이해할 거에요, 무엇이 행복인지.
Look, a new day has begun.
