드라마 끝까지 보다 지각예배.

(=Watching TV and late for worship.)

스포츠 중계 보러 일찍 귀가

(=To watch sports, early going home.)

다음 주는 바캉스를 떠나오니,

장로님의 기도 때는 낮잠 보충.

아멘 끝나자마자 서둘러 퇴장

안 가져온 헌금 찾아 뒤적뒤적,

(=Searching for offering that I didn't take.)

밥 먹을 땐 누가 볼까 눈만 껌벅,

(=Eating means getting worried & blinking)

술 마시고 담배 필 땐 무신론자,

(=Drinking & Smoking means being atheist )

 

목사님이 몰라준다 투덜투덜.

(=Pastor's ignorance to me means grumbling.)

보기 싫은 사람 있어 교회 바꿔.

(=Hating somebody means changing the church.)

그래도 헌금은 꼬박꼬박 왜냐?

(=But my offering is regular. Why?)

봉사하면 그 대가로 복 받을테니,

(= Volunteering means God's

compensation to me.)

어렸을 적엔 기도할 땐,

(=When I was young praying,)

눈뜨면 안 된다는 선생님의 말씀에,

(=my teacher told me not to open my eyes,)

아프도록 두 눈 꼭 감고,

(=so I closed my eyes tightly &)

기도 했었습니다.

(=prayed.)

 

하지만 언제부턴가 내 손은 흐트러져만 갔고,

(=But since the time unknown, my hand got distracted, &)

기도할 때 아무렇지도 않게

(=While praying, without any shame,)

주위를 둘러보곤 합니다.

(=I tend to look around.)

주님, 저는 지금 너무나 변해버렸습니다.

(=Lord, I have changed too much.)

 

저를 용서하소서.

(=Please forgive me.)

이제는 어린 아이의 순수함으로,

(=Now to the purity of a little child,)

돌아가고자 합니다.

(=I want to go back.)

 

오 주여, 맛을 잃은 소금처럼,

(=Oh Lord, like the salt that lost its taste,)

버림받아 던지울까 두렵사오니,

(=I am afraid that I will be thrown away.)

이 제자도 주님 앞에 모든 것을,

(=This disciple is, before my Lord,)

회개하고 자복합니다.

(=repenting & confessing everything.)

 

주여, 지난날의 생활들을,

(=Lord, my previous life,)

눈물로써 회개하고 자백하오니,

(=with my tears, I repent & confess, so)

어지러운 세상 속에 소금 되게 하소서.

(=In this chaotic world, please make me become salt.)
